Duties and Responsibilities

The Curriculum Committee members shall discuss and recommend proposals affecting the academic program of the College, including but not limited to course proposals, program changes, addition and deletion of programs, degree requirements, and general policies with impact on instruction and learning. This committee reviews all new undergraduate courses, considers new programs of study (majors, concentrations, or special concentrations) or changes to existing programs of study, and determines policies that govern the ways in which students engage in their coursework. The curriculum committee plays a central role in Colleges. This role has expanded tremendously with the expanding role of faculty with the expanding demand for a curriculum which is flexible and responsive to the needs of our increasingly diverse student body. These demands have necessitated, now more than ever, that faculty Understand the role of the curriculum committee, remain committed to high curriculum standards, and implement the college curriculum in an organized, efficient manner.
