School of Physiotherapy’s Department of Physiotherapy in Community Health has the distinct advantage of being the one of the few departments of its kind running Post Graduate programmes in Physiotherapy in Community Health not only in the state but country at large.
The department is proud to employ well qualified and passionate teachers with rich and varied experience in academics as well as industry.
The department is well equipped with facilities and community development resources like Patient educational pamphlets,charts, models and flex prints which are regularly utilized to disseminate important health care messages to the community through camps, awareness drives and other outreach programmes.
Department of Physiotherapy in Community Health caters to the needs of the society by providing Physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to the local and adopted communities like Old age Homes in the vicinity.
The departmental laboratory is well equipped with State of the art equipments like the Tanita Multifrequency Body Composition analyser, Pelvic Inclination Measuring equipment, Anthropometers which are routinely used for Obesity assessment, ergonomic evaluations and Obstetric & Gynecologic care. The department also has access to Motion analyser, Surface EMG, Monarch and Treadmills which are utilized for academics, research as well as patient care.
Department has a Air-conditioned hall which is used to carry out Weight Management Classes and Geriatric Fitness Training programs in the institutional premises.
Deliverance of social responsibilities through Extension–extramural endeavors like Street plays, health Promotion Camps, awareness lectures etc is yet another step towards creative and active learning which is routinely undertaken by the departmental faculty with active participation of our Undergraduate as well as post graduate students.
