Awareness Lecture on Vasantik Vaman 2023

The Department of Panchakarma,School of Ayurveda, D.Y. Patil Deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai had arranged an Awareness Lecture on Vasantik Vaman on 3 rd February, 2023, Friday, 11.00 am onwards at Virtual Classroom, 1 st Floor, D.Y. Patil Ayurveda Hospital, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

Details of speakers - The consultants of Panchkarma Department Dr. Ritu Wadhwa, Dr. Jaya Ghore & Dr. Aditi Lingayat.
Details of participants – The lecture received a welcoming response by presence of 32 participants/ patients.
Objective of event – The lecture was aimed to create awareness regarding Vasantik Vaman among the masses, to elaborate efficacy of Vaman in treating Vaman-sadhya Vyadhis and promote utility of Panchakarma therapies among the masses.

Activities conducted in the event:
The program was started sharp at 11.00 am. Hosting of the program was done by Dr. Aditi Lingayat.
After Dhanwantari Stavan, official inauguration was done by Dr.Ritu Wadhwa, H.O.D. Panchakarma Department of School of Ayurveda.
Dr. Ritu Wadhwa started with the session by presenting glimpse of activities carried out in the Department of Panchakarma in our institute. She then elaborated about the basics of Vaman, its utility, success stories of patient who had undergone Vaman procedure in the preceding years. Dr. Wadhwa clearly explained regarding the indications & contraindications for the procedure. The second part of the session was taken by Dr. Jaya Ghore who vividly explained the procedure of Vaman, SOP of Vaman carried out at our institute and essential do’s & don’ts during the procedure. She described the entire procedure of Vaman in simple language to the patients and gave them an estimate about the number of days required to complete the procedure.
The third and the final session was undertaken by Dr. Aditi Lingayat who elaborated regarding the specific dietary regimen to be followed after Vaman, the duration of same and required set of rules to be followed during this period. Also, a list of healthy recipes was provided to all patients with options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacking.
Lastly, patients were encouraged to ask their queries which were jointly addressed by Dr.Ritu Wadhwa, Dr. Jaya Ghore & Dr. Aditi Lingayat.
Overall the lecture was very informative. Question and answer session at the end of the lecture made the event interactive.

Special Remarks –
Response of patients was tremendous. Successful registration and planning of Vaman was done for 5 patients on the same day.
