Physiotherapy Guest Lecture 2022 - Basic Concepts of Physiotherapy

The Department of Panchakarma,School of Ayurvedaa, D.Y. Patil Deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai had arranged a Physiotherapy Guest Lecture on Basic Concepts of Physiotherapy on 7th April, 2022, 11.00 am onwards.
Venue of the event– Virtual Classroom, School of Ayurveda, D.Y.Patil Deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
Guest Speaker – Dr. Dnyanesh Patil, Professor & H.O.D., Department of Electrotherapy and Electrodiagnosis, School of Physiotherapy, D.Y.Patil Deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

Details of Program –
The session started sharp at 11.00 am. The program was hosted by Dr. Chaitali Patil.
After Dhanwantari Stavan, official inauguration of program and welcoming the guest was done by Dr. Ritu Wadhwa, H.O.D., Department of Panchakarma.
Felicitation of Dr. Dnyanesh Patil Sir was done by Dr. Jaya Ghore.
Dr. Ritu Wadhwa gave a briefing regarding the objective of the lecture and its utility to students and consultants.
Dr. Dnyanesh Sir delivered his lecture with help of an elaborate but simplified PPT presentation including his thoughtful insights on the subject. Sir highlighted multi-faceted functions of Physiotherapy. Specific treatment modalities in various diseases were enumerated. Utilization of Physiotherapy not just for musculo-skeletal and neuromuscular disorders but its vast usage in disease of integumentary system, ergonimcs- posture correction, pregnancy, etc was elaborated. Use of ultra sonography, SWD, TENS, thera bands, wax therapy etc was vividly explained.
Overall the lecture was very informative. Question and answer session at the end of the lecture made the event interactive.

Details of participants– Final year B.A.M.S students of both senior and junior batch, Faculties of School of Ayurvedaa.
Objective of event–
1. To create awareness among students regarding the utility of Physiotherapy.
2. To promote use of physiotherapy along with Panchakarma for delivering better results.
Remarks – The Department of Panchakarma received an enormous positive response.
