Tenure , Powers & Limitations

Tenure :-

  • The Advisory Board Charter sets out the intended tenure of the Advisory Board structure. Due to the flexible nature of the advisory board model, the board structure can generally be terminated at any time. Project-based Advisory Boards are time-specific where the term may be for 90 days to 18 months.

Powers :-

The Advisory Board will provide support and advice to academic programs, assist in the development of new programs, and identify best-practice standards.

  • Advisory Board members will also serve as ambassadors to the program, providing a connection to and ongoing exchange of information and ideas with members of a broader society.
  • The Advisory Board may also evaluate the performance of a program, review/monitor/assess a specific program.
  • To make recommendations for the Vision, Mission statements of the University and the Program
  • To monitor the academic activity with reference to adherence to academic calendar, syllabus completion, attendance of students, results of each semester etc and give recommendations accordingly.
  • To evaluate the contribution of various beyond syllabus activities conducted for each semester.
  • To mentor the Program Assessment Committee and assist in planning of academic activities to meet the expectations of the Vision and Mission.

Limitations :-

  • The Advisory Board shall not infringe upon the powers of the respective authorities provided under these Regulations; and where any authority has been given advisory/recommendatory powers, the Advisory Board shall obtain advice/recommendations from such authority, before deciding on any matter before it.
