The 14th season of the cricket tournament, ‘Dental Premier League’ was organized by the Student Committee of 2021-2022 at DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Dentistry, from the 29th of September to the 4th of October, 2022. The inauguration of the event was done on the 29th of September by the Chancellor & President Dr. Vijay D. Patil on The DY Patil Stadium Ground. The theme that was allocated for the event was ‘Legends of Indian Cricket’. The matches took place in the university ground. There were 6 teams that were formed including the undergraduate students, postgraduate students, interns, staff, the alumni as well as the non- teaching staff namely :
Boys teams:- Gavaskar Gladiators, Dravid Defenders, Tendulkar Titans, Kumble Kings, Dhoni Daredevils, Yuvi 6ers
Girls teams:- Tendulkar Titans, Dravid Defenders, Staff Girls Team.
Our Chancellor & President Dr. Vijay D. Patil sir also showed a glimpse of his sportsman spirit by participating in the tournament. The teams battled for victory with great enthusiasm. After a 5 day strives for the cup, the finals took place on the 4th of October. The boy’s team DHONI DAREDEVILS emerged as the winners of season 14 & the TENDULKAR TITANS were the 1st Runner-Up. Amongst girls, the STAFF TEAM emerged as the winners of season 14 & the TENDULKAR TITANS were the 1st Runner-Up
There were awards such as the best batsman, the best bowler, a man of the match for all the matches, and the man of the series which was given to Mayur Shinde for his performance throughout the tournament.
