Zest Fest


DY Patil Deemed to be University-School of Dentistry celebrated their intra-college fest from the 5th to 8th February, 2019. Aptly named the” Zest Fest”, the four day event, saw many students along with staff members participating in various cultural, fine arts as well as sports events.


Day 1 ‘Boho/Hippie Day’
Students came dressed in long flowy outfits with tassels and floral prints bringing in the Boho vibe. It started off with fine arts events which included mehendi competition, old lab coat painting competition, soap carving and rangoli making contest.
Indoor games like chess, Carrom and Table Tennis were organized which had multiple entries.
A fashion show was organized where both students and staff took part and Department of Periodontics were declared the winners. There were various stalls and live food counters put up by the interns.

Day 2 was the ‘Masquerade Day’ where a Make Up workshop was conducted by Rebecca Satish( Intern) who showed off her make up skills and had great participation from the students!
Tug Of War between departments and students also took place.
This year the committee managed to bring back the most exciting of all dance competitions – “ NACH BALIYE”, which was won by the staff of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.

Day 3 was themed ‘Traditional Day’, where the students showed off their rich and vibrant heritage. From dhoti’s and saree’s to sherwani’s and lungis, we saw it all.
A new addition to the cultural event ‘A Blind Food Tasting’ challenge was also held this year, where the inner masterchef of the participants was put to test. There were multiple rounds which eventually helped them sharpen their palates and each round had a winner.
DY’s version of “Koffee with Karan” named “Juices with Jensyll” was organized where each department had nominated two staff members for a Rapid Fire Round with Jensyll Rodrigues( Intern).

Day 4 ‘Pyjama Party Day’
The last day of fest “ DY’S GOT TALENT”, DY’s very own talent hunt was organized which saw a myriad of performances which included dancing, singing, rapping,etc.
The fest ended with a Movie Night and the famous Bollywood movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ was played in the auditorium!
It was a fun filled event that was enjoyed by all!
