Birthday Celebration of Dr. Vijay Patil



On the occasion of our beloved President and Chancellor Dr. Vijay Patil’s birthday, the Student Council 2019-20 of DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Dentistry held an awe-spring event on the 17th of September, 2019. He arrived for the occasion with his wife the First Lady Shivani Patil and son Rajveer Patil and was greeted at the gate by little children aged 5-6 years from a Non-Profit Organisation called “Bethany Children’s Home” who were invited to celebrate the occasion. They greeted Sir and his family with cheer and held balloons inscribing alphabetically “Happy Birthday “ for him.






We had the inauguration of the dental canteen in the basement, followed by the inauguration of the multispecialty surgical clinic located on the first floor. This was followed by a beautiful celebration in the Auditorium which was based on theme of “Space” which started off with a spiritual touch of the lighting of the lamp of enlightenment by the President Dr. Vijay D Patil , First Lady Mrs Shivani Patil , Rajveer Patil, Dean Dr Omkar Shetty, Vice Dean Dr Avinash Tamgadge, Dean of Faculty Dr Mukul Padhye and all the HOD’s. There was a classfiical dance performance by the students of The DY Patil School of Ayurveda and a skit delivered by the students of the School of Dentistry. After the acknowledgment of these events our Chancellor Dr. Vijay Patil, First Lady Shivani Patil and their son Rajveer Patil proceeded with the cutting of beautiful three-tiered cake followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Vijay Patil sir enlightening us with his words of wisdom.

He supported the students and teacher’s enthusiasm and efforts and encouraged us to further strengthen our morals and values of teamwork and the importance of our mental and physical health, guiding us to improve and augment not just our dental work but also the extra curriculum that will in turn culminate not just a good doctor but also a good role model. Dr. Vijay Patil, Mrs. Shivani Patil and their son Rajveer bequeathed the little children who were there to enhance the occasion, with a hamper presented to each of them bringing the event to an end.
