Celebration of Hon. President Dr. Vijay Patil Sir

Every day is a celebration here at DY Patil Deemed to be University and the students and faculty of DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Dentistry left no stones unturned as they celebrated the birthday of honorable President Dr. Vijay D. Patil, with great pomp and reverence. An innovative theme of “DY Patil Airlines” was the highlight of the day as the whole show revolved around the concept. The concept was fresh and the décor and props added to the brilliance.

The theme and its nuances were upheld to perfection as the props covered all aspects of Air Travel, right from boarding pass themed invitation letters to a runway laid out leading to the inside of the dental auditorium where the program was held.

The show took flight starting with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and was the succeeded by the Air Hostess taking reins of the show. The whole programs was fun filled, tongue-in-cheek and alight with airline and dental puns. Apart from the fun, many new projects and initiatives that were taken on by the School of Dentistry were introduced on the platform only to be met with great enthusiasm.

The cultural committee also organised a dance performance with the concept of fusion of Bollywood styles in mind. The dance piece covered a lot of varied and rich styles of and also traditional dances from various states of India. The college band ‘Cusps’ as also launched on this day.
This was followed by all the eminent personages in the audience showering Dr. Vijay Patil sir with praises and birthday wishes. The program concluded with the first family taking to the stage and the birthday cake was cut.
