Program Highlights:-

– The candidate will need to follow in service residency program and will gradually be promoted and given increasing responsibility for the management of patients in infectious diseases.

– The process of rotation is designed such that there is equal exposure in areas of infectious diseases including ICU, transplant units, high dependency units, microbiology, ward postings and outpatients.

– Besides the training program, the candidate will require to participate in case presentations, multi departmental work, journal clubs, understanding and writing research papers and preparing for his/her thesis.

– Teaching program will be split into ward rounds, outpatients follow up care, dedicated time on the bench of the medical microbiology laboratory, work with the laboratory and discuss with patients and consultants

– Microbiology techniques from collection to technical and interpretation of microbiological data will be part of the curriculum as well as, laboratory techniques including recent advances in molecular diagnostics and future directives.

– Emphasis will be placed on understanding treatment failure and expanded therapy such as surgical intervention, the future directions in managements such as gene-based therapy and molecular diagnostics, as well as therapy to be evolved in future.

– The program places importance on understanding conflict in patient care and its management thereof, and to train fellows to be able to function as a clinicians, researchers and having competence in training of Infectious Diseases.

Eligibility Criteria:

MD / DNB / Equivalent Degree in General Medicine
