Dr. Karuna Akshay Malviya, is an esteemed professional in the field of law with an extensive academic background and has diversified range of expertise. She holds a degree in PHD Law with Senior Research Fellowship from University Grants Commission. She has qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) with Junior Research Fellowship. She has done her Master of law with specialisation in criminal law from University of Mumbai with distinction.
Her areas of specialization includes Legal Language, Criminology, Law of Crimes, Constitutional Law, Clinical Legal Education, Legal Research and Methodology, Philosophy, Legal History, Comparative Public Law and many more.
Prior to her regnant role, she had held several key positions in other prestigious institutions as well. She served as the Director for the Centre of Advanced Training at Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai. Additionally, she impersonated as the Coordinator for the Centre of Women, Law, and Gender Justice at MNLU, Mumbai, and served as the Head of the Department for the Department of Research at MNLU, Mumbai. Dr. Karuna's contributions extend beyond her academic travails. She is a certified mediator and was also an efficacious member in the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee at MGMIHS, Navi Mumbai. She has also successfully guided, four research scholars and appraised over 20 Law Ph.D. Thesis.
She held the topography of Principal Investigator for the state of Maharashtra in a Pan India Project on Prison Reforms undertaken by the Centre for Research in Criminal Justice, MNLU, Mumbai. Also she had Multiple publications . Apart from that, she had fill the bar between both national and international legal plethora by taking 40 students to the International Court of Justice, Hague.
