D Y Patil Deemed to be University School of Pharmacy has organized an Industrial tour for 3rd year B. Pharm students from 12th April 2022- 21st April 2022 to Chandigarh- Manali- Shimla. It was a 10 days study tour. 35 Students and 3 staff attended the visit.

Students visited Cachet Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., & Unibiotech Formulations on 14th April 2022. Different operations like the manufacturing of Capsules, Tablets, Syrups, and also Nutraceuticals were observed by the students. Students learned about the water purification process, Effluent Treatment Plant (waste management), Temperature and RH monitoring, HVAC (Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning) & AHU (Air Handling Unit), QC section, BOD incubator and COD incubator, Media preparation area, microbial limit testing area. Working in the QA section and storage department was also observed. On the next day, 15th April students visited Elfin Drugs Pvt Ltd. Manufacturing of Tablet, Capsule, Syrup, External Preparations, and Injectable was observed.

The main objective of the Industrial visit was to make students understand the process of manufacturing, QA & QC, Packaging, storage, and overall working flow of Pharmaceutical Industries. All the students were keen to learn new things and active participation was shown, also there was good interaction in all 3 industries has happened. It was a very informative visit that gave students quality knowledge about the industries. The remaining days’ students enjoyed visiting tourist places in Manali and Shimla. Students learned about the culture, and lifestyle and enjoyed the weather. After the COVID Pandemic situation, this was the first memorable visit for T Y B Pharm students.
